Happy new year to all & welcome (back) to the blog. Within the past 72 hours, I received separate e-mails from my mother-in-law & my best buddy's mom (is that a mother once removed?) making sure that Jake is okay & wondering when the site would be updated again. When about 15% of your readership is looking for content, it's probably time to get down to business.
In short, Jake is doing very well & is getting close to 14 pounds. He's also grown length-wise quite a bit as now he's a solid 24 inches/2 feet long. As far as the blog goes, the plan from here is I'll be putting up some back-dated posts with pictures & more details for each holiday (probably Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas/New Year's). So if you're just reading this post, make sure to check below for 'new' information.
Hopefully everyone enjoyed the holiday season; it was certainly busy for us but we had a good time. I had knee surgery to repair my torn ACL, we had my side of the family come & visit Jake for his first Christmas (& to help out with their laid-up son), we searched for & eventually hired a nanny for the little guy, & rang in the new year with good friends.
Once again it's great to see him healthy & growing as well as having so many caring friends & family that have been loyal followers of the site. We'll work on keeping the blog more up-to-date in 2009.....

Thanks, Jeff! It's so good to see Cubby's smiling face today! Hope your knee's healing well and that you all had a wonderful Christmas! More soon.

We had a great time with Baby Jake at Christmas. He is giggling and laughing and a really solid little guy now. Michigan Grandpa Dale read to him just like he used to read to Jeff - a long time ago - and even Chloe the dog listened! Jeff brought me to tears with his special present he gave to Kristin - a bound book of Jake's stay in the NICU called The Littlest Bear!
Glad the blog is back in production!
