Living up to his name

As you could perhaps tell from the Bald Head Island photos, Jake has turned into a Walker. He took his first steps in early August and really perfected his moves on the beach at Bald Head. He now walks almost all of the time. Here he is in action...



Preemie boys are notoriously late talkers - Jake seems to be fitting the rule there. He's not saying any words with consistency, but he does know what a few words mean - ball and dog being top on the list. He's also developed a sweet tooth - another fine Walker (and Raymond!) trait. We are trying to teach him the signs for "food" and "more," but he seems happier to just grab at what we have (a not-so-polite "sign" but a sign nonetheless) or go find food himself. Here he is after discovering a plate of brownies in the fridge...



And finally, a return of the monthly photos. He's gaining on Bernard!

But he doesn't like to sit still for long...
